Dior Book Tote Review

When I first saw the Dior Book Tote all around Instagram, I thought: „I would never spend 2’500 Swiss Francs/Euros for a canvas tote that you can’t even wear when it rains!“ Fast forward a few month and I couldn’t stop thinking about this beautiful bag, which in my mind seemed to would work with every outfit. Last August, whilst spending the summer in Paris with my boyfriend, I finally bought it in the beautiful boutique on Rue saint honoré. The service – as always in Dior – was impeccable and made me even more excited about my new bag.
As I just finished University this summer and started working as a lawyer, it meant that this bag was – and still is – perfect as a work bag.

It literally fits everything! I usually put in my big 750ml Chillys rosé gold water bottle, a makeup bag, another little bag with earphones and other necessities, a big wallet, a book, an ipad, my gym gear, in the winter a scarf, etc. It would fit way more but I seriously can’t imagine myself ever thinking that something doesn’t fit in there. Seen that it is kind of a canvas material, it also is very light. Nevertheless it still seems immensely sturdy and it doesn’t loose it’s shape. Even after nearly one year of using it almost every day as a work bag, the shape remained the same as it was on the first day I bought it. The reason for this is that it’s material is – even though it’s fabric – quite thick.

As you can see on the photos, I’ve got mine in the classic blue oblique print. I can confirm that I’m still super happy with this choice and that I would choose this print all over again. That said it actually is not a print. Everything is embroidered.

When I bought the book tote, it only existed in this one size. Now it also comes in two smaller sizes. I would still choose my size. It’s 41.5*35*18 cm and – like I said – fits a ton. You can use it as a work bag, travel bag and even as an overnight bag. If I only visit my boyfriend for one night this bag seems to fit all of my stuff – and I am an notorious overpacker – as long as I don’t want to bring another pair of boots or another heavy coat with me.

If the bag gets a bit too heavy after carrying it all day, I usually carry it over my shoulder. That works quite well as long as you are not wearing a very thick coat.

Another thing I really worried about is, that it could get very dirty. After using it A LOT I can confirm that it doesn’t get dirty easily and I do not baby my bags.

If you have any other questions about this bag – or something else – just leave them in the comment section below.

Lots of love

Chiara
