After seeing the By Terry CC Serum in Sunny flash in nearly all of Lydia Elise Millens videos and being mesmerized by the nice tanned effect that it gives, I decided to finally get it myself. Sadly, it wasn’t as easy as I thought. The serum was sold out almost everywhere! When I nearly forgot about this product I saw – out of nowhere – a by terry story in a little side street in Paris. I immediately stopped and went inside with my boyfriend.
First of all, the story in Paris looks absolutely beautiful and we where really lucky because we were the only people inside, so we had the whole store to ourself. Obviously, I went straight to the face counter to try out the CC Serum in sunny flash. I was stunned! It was as beautiful in real life as it always looked on videos. It was actually even better because it smells absolutely divine like a rose field. I naturally bought it straight away!
When you have such high expectations with a product, more often than not it can’t live up to those high hopes. Not this serum. I now used it for about 10 months nearly every day and still love it. It’s probably my most loved makeup product.
When you put it on you get this nice subtle but still noticeable glowy tan on your face (and your neck because I recommend to blend it down your neck as well to prevent a „tan line“). It looks beautiful on itself but you can also wear it under makeup as a primer. Every foundation I tried it with glided on beautifully after using this. If you put makeup on top, I would recommend to wait for about 30 seconds that the product can set. Nevertheless, you don’t have to do that as you could also mix it with your foundation. I myself prefer the look when I use it as a primer as I think it gives you a more glowy complexion than when you just mix it.
The serum comes in four colours and sunny flash is the darkest one. Don’t be put of going for the darkest shade since it really works no matter how tan you are. I use it during the wintertime (when I’m not tanned at all) and it still works perfectly. The other colours will probably still give you a glowy look but since they are more pink based you won’t get the slight tan effect out of them.
My favourite way to use this product is on my no makeup days. Since I’m really happy with my skin I luckily don’t have to wear foundation on a daily basis. But even when wearing no other makeup product, I still love wearing the cc serum. The reason for that is that even if your skin is clear and looks great it can look a bit dull, especially in winter. For me, this products gives my complexion a nice little „something extra“ where it just looks healthier without slapping on the makeup.
As a resume, I can fully recommend this product. I love it and can’t see myself not buying it over and over again.
