I’ve loved handbags since I was a little girl. I remember vividly how I always wanted to bring a handbag with me when I only was about three years old. My only problem was that I didn’t really need to bring anything with me and therefore always asked my mum what I could put in there. Well I might don’t have the problem anymore that I don’t know what to put in my bag – quite the opposite now – but I still absolutely love handbags.
Over the years I’ve accumulated quite a collection. Some of them get a lot of outings whilst other probably see the outside of my bedroom about once a year. There are also a lot of bags in the middle but today I’m talking about the four most and the four least worn handbags in my collection.
In this blogpost I briefly talk about all of the eight handbags. I’ve also done a video on my youtube channel which is more in depth.
Most worn handbags:
- Givenchy Antigona in a green croc embossed leather: I absolutely love this bag. First of all, it fits a lot without looking too bulky. It has the perfect size for a macbook air 13 inch. When bringing your laptop it still has some space left to put in your sunglasses, wallet, a little makeupbag etc. Another plus of this handbag is that you can wear in in every weather. I’ve used this handbag numerous times whilst it rained down like theres no tomorrow. In fact, this is my „rainy weather handbag“. The leather still looks impeccable. The croc embossed leather isn’t just great for rainy days, it’s also quite insensitive. I’ve had this bag for about four years and the leather really does not scratch. When talking about the pluses of this bag, I can’t not talk about the shoulder strap. Not only does it give the bag a nice little design touch, it’s also super practical.
- Chanel Classic Flap in the size Small: This was my most sought after handbag since I can remember. After purchasing it 3 years ago I can confirm that it did not disappoint. The small size is – in my opinion – perfect if you want a bag that looks great at night. It’s my go to bag to go out for dinner. Also, I do use it quite a lot during the day when I just want to bring my card holder, my phone, my key and a lipstick. Sunglasses are usually too bulky, except when you don’t bring the case with you (which I know, you shouldn’t). I got it in lambskin leather because for me it looks just more elegant. Since I mostly wanted to use it at night, an elegant look was essential. I’m not saying that the caviar does not look elegant but for me the caviar leather is better for the medium or Jumbo size. I got this bag vintage and the leather – after all those years – still looks really good. I think that it has to do with the fact that the leathers had a better quality in the past than now. So I wouldn’t vow for the durability of the lambskinleather now..
- Lady Dior in a white patent leather: I got the lady dior about two years ago. I didn’t think that I would wear it as much as I did! I love that this bag is patent. Therefore, I really don’t have to worry about scratching or ruining the bag at all. That’s why this bag accompanied me on many holidays. Another plus is that you can wear the bag with more daytime casual outfits but it also looks great with a beautiful elegant eveningdress. You also shouldn’t be fooled about the size. It’s like a little Marry Poppins bag. It definitely fits more than the Chanel classic flap in the small size.
- Dior Book Tote: I really thought long about buying this bag. I’ve already wrote a whole blogpost dedicated to this bag. So if you want a really in depth review about it, you should check it out.
My least worn handbags:
- Louis Vuitton Alma in the size medium: I do like the monogram from Louis Vuitton but just really not on this bag. In my opinion, it makes the bag look a bit „old“. Not that the bag itself looks old but it looks like it’s more for older people. That’s why I probably nearly never wear it.
- Céline Phantom in a suede grey croc embossed leather: I really love the look of this bag but I just don’t wear it. The main reason why I don’t wear it is that it’s very sensitive. Not only can you not wear in when it rains, the leather also scratches quite easily. Therefore, you really have to think about the occasions when you can wear this bag. Also, you can’t stuff this handbag because otherwise it will loose its shape.
- Lady dior in a pink metallic cannage: Even if the Lady dior in the patent leather made it to my most worn handbags, this one – which actually is even prettier! – doesn’t get a lot of wear at all. I think the reason for that is, that it might be harder to pair with outfits. Also, I only got this bag last October. A reason why I didn’t wear it a lot since than probably has to do with the fact that it was winter. I really hope that I will start wearing this bag more in the upcoming summer season.
- Stella McCartney Falabella: I got this bag before my Chanel classic flap. Before getting the Chanel, I really used it a lot. I think that it doesn’t get a lot of wear nowadays because it’s also a black small handbag with gold hardware. So I usually pick the Chanel one over the Falabella.
I hope this little post helped you guy in deciding what handbags to get or just to give you something fun to read if you’re a handbag fanatic – as I definitely am.
